Hickory Live Sawn | FAQ Sheet

HICKORY LIVESAWN | FAQ

Live Sawing is a method of sawing lumber borrowed from European craftsman of past centuries. It provides a unique rustic look while providing incredible stability making it a great choice for your home or cottage. We just finished a 15,000 run of 5” hickory with incredible character and lengths up to 10’.

When it comes to Hickory nothing compares to its rustic charm which includes streaks, spots and indentations from the woodpeckers. Woodpeckers have an amazing sense that allows them to hear bugs and larvae moving in and under the bark of a tree. The loud pecking noise that can be heard up to a mile is from its beak pounding the tree in search of bugs. This pounding creates T shaped bruises deep into the tree.
