Delivery Driver - Casual

Location: Tweed, Ontario

Travel: Occassonal, multi-day road trips across Canada and the United States (lodging and meals covered)

POSITION SUMMARY

Gaylord Hardwood Flooring is looking for a casual delivery driver to handle occasional long-distance deliveries across Canada and the United States.

This is a flexible, on-call position ideal for someone who enjoys driving and is available for multi-day trips (typically 2–8 days). This role is especially well-suited for someone who is retired or semi-retired and still interested in travel.

Deliveries are scheduled in advance and involve transporting hardwood flooring to customers and job sites.

Duties

  • Transport hardwood flooring to job sites and customers across Canada and the U.S.
  • Safely load, secure, and unload materials
  • Complete deliveries in a professional and timely manner
  • Communicate with the team regarding delivery schedules and progress
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Licences: Valid Class AR (Restricted A) driver’s licences in good standing.
  • Travel documents: Valid Canadian passport or NEXUS; able to travel to/from the United States without restriction.
  • Physical demands: Ability to safely lift and maneuver 90 lb (41 kg) bundles; team-lift above that threshold; work on active job sites.
  • Comfortable driving long distances
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with deliveries or construction materials is an asset
  • Flexible Schedule and available on an occassional basis

COMPENSATION & COMPANY SUPPORT 

  • $20-$25/hr
    Expected Hours: 1-40 hours/week (Casual Position)
  • Schedule: Available on a call-in basis. Ability to travel 2-8 days at a time.
